As a technician for battery and hazardous materials disposal, you will take on one of the most important roles in our production. You will ensure that hazardous substances and battery modules are handled professionally, in accordance with the law and safely. Your tasks

  • Monitor and implement all waste separation and labelling requirements – you will ensure that the standards in your factory areas are known and consistently adhered to
  • Professional packaging of hazardous waste and transport by forklift or electric pallet truck from the point of origin to the waste collection point
  • Checking the composition of waste and sorting out misthrows in accordance with specifications
  • Packing and repacking, filling and refilling, weighing, labelling and provision of hazardous substances
  • Registration, change and deregistration of hazardous waste collections as well as preparation of all contouring, acceptance, collection and delivery notes
  • Support for waste declaration, sampling and dispatching
  • Loading and unloading of trucks and containers, labelling in accordance with dangerous goods law, assumption of responsibility as packer and shipper
  • Electro-hydraulic discharging as well as disassembly and packaging of damaged or stabilized battery modules and cells
  • Maintenance and servicing of assigned machines, equipment and cranes
  • Advice and support of production colleagues on questions relating to waste issues

What you bring to the table

  • At least 3 years of experience handling hazardous materials, hazardous materials, lithium-ion batteries, laboratory chemicals, and waste electrical and electronic equipment
  • Safe handling of waste documentation: Consignment notes, pick-up notes, pick-up notes and delivery notes are familiar territory for you
  • Manual skills and a real willingness to familiarize yourself with new areas of responsibility
  • A sense of duty, independence and willingness to learn – you tackle and think along
  • Valid forklift and crane licence or qualification and willingness to acquire it
  • Willingness to work shifts (early, late and night shifts)
  • Confident handling of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Fluent in written and spoken German and English
