Job Description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Communications Installation Engineer. This position is onsite in Norfolk, VA .

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support team members and perform required communication equipment integration or installation of communication systems equipment, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and use of test equipment as required

  • Install, configure, integrate, troubleshoot, and manage HF, UHF, SATCOM, radio communications suites and associated network and cryptographic equipment deployed

  • Performance of preventative maintenance and troubleshooting or assessment of electronic equipment

  • Work alongside engineers to design, build and test solutions to a variety of technical problems

  • Analyze operations and offering suggestions for improvement

  • Perform field validations of various watercraft and equipment

  • Perform work between customer sites, shore sites, and/or on ships

  • Ability to travel CONUS/OCONUS if necessary (ex. Spain, Japan, Hawaii, Guam)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates degree in related field and 4 years of experience or equivalent education and years of experience in lieu of degree

  • Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) services at both Contiguous United States (CONUS) and Outside Contiguous United States (OCONUS) locations

  • Must have technical experience with AC/DC circuits

  • Must have experience with HF/VHF/UHF installation/troubleshooting

  • Must have experience with RF Connectors

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with HF/VHF/UHF radio systems RF test equipment

  • Experience with JIRA/Confluence

  • NAVSEA Certified in Fiber Optic Termination

  • Tower Climber Certified

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be US Citizen and have an active Secret security clearance

  • Must be eligible to obtain a CAC card

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry 50 Lbs.

  • Work extensive time in stationary positions.

  • Climb and descend ladders
