Are you called to walk alongside youth and families on their healing journey? Cunningham Childrens Home is seeking a compassionate and dynamic Chaplain to join our team and help fulfill our mission of nurturing hope through emotional, educational and spiritual support.

As our chaplain, you will provide meaningful spiritual care to the youth and families we servemany of whom are navigating complex trauma. Your work will include offering individual and group spiritual support, leading worship and special services, providing pastoral counseling and coordinating programs that promote spiritual growth and connection. Youll also serve as a resource to staff, helping cultivate a culture of compassion and resilience across our organization.

This role is also key in strengthening our deep roots with the United Methodist Church and building bridges to diverse faith communities through outreach, education, and collaboration.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR CHAPLAIN

Minimum Education:
Master of Divinity or seminary course work equivalency preferred. Candidates with a four-year degree will also be considered.

Credentials Required:
Ordination as an Elder in the United Methodist Church is preferred or recognition of clergy status by a denominations governing body. Deaconesses or youth pastors with 35 years of experience are also encouraged to apply.

Experience:
At least three years of experience working effectively and creatively with youth. Experience working in a trauma-informed environment is a plus.

Skills:
Excellent relational, verbal, and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
Ability to relate to clients, staff, community organizations, churches, and agencies. Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Other Requirements:
Must be able to transport clients as needed.
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, maintain absolute client and staff confidentiality, and interact with people of any race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion, ancestry, gender, or gender identity. Must also maintain spiritual integrity while working within IDCFS/CCH/ORR guidelines.

WORK SCHEDULE
40 hours/week, some weekends and evenings.
